Words = Power: An exercise to lessen your resistance

Einstein taught us that everything in the Multiverse is made of energy. Your thoughts are energy and the building blocks of your universe as you perceive it. They are the jet fuel of your life. However, some of your thoughts and words are also what’s keeping you from your dreams; your thoughts can unintentionally cause resistance! The very thing that helps you create your dreams is what prevents you from achieving those same dreams.

For example, the amount of electricity that starts at the power plant is not the same amount of energy that makes it to your toaster because of the copper wires, the connectors and the distance. With any form of energy, the more resistance in the system, the less energy will reach its desired target.

“Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t–you’re right.”
― Henry Ford

We convey our thoughts through words, written or spoken, but do you consider the importance of the words that you choose? They can hinder your growth both physically and spiritually. Choosing to use words like ‘work’ or ‘difficult’ automatically have weight attached to them, they feel heavy when you say them. No one likes ‘work’ or looks forward to something ‘difficult’, right?

YouBecomeThoughtsAn easy exercise that I recommend is to be more aware how you feel when you think a thought or choose a word. Consider each thought: How does that thought make me feel? It’s simple, think and feel. Say the word or think the thought, if the thought feels good, keep going, if it feels bad, just soften it, don’t let it get away from you. Look for another word that may have a similar meaning but carries less heft.

Simple words can change the level of resistance in your life. For example, if you say something is difficult, it will be, it has to be. You have prepaved it that way, your powerful expectation will be granted. Soften it, maybe choose another word, like ‘challenging’. This will automatically make a difference because you know that challenges are meant to be overcome. You have done that before, keeping on that stream of thought, let it roll into a positive affirmation!

I’ve had some challenges in my life, and actually, I’ve met those challenges. It turned out that they weren’t that hard after all. I’ve done this before and I’m quite good at it. Now that I’m reflecting, there really hasn’t been a challenge that I haven’t met. This is really interesting because a minute ago I thought this was difficult now I know this is going to be easy and not really a challenge at all. Frankly, I’m looking forward to it and it might even be fun, when I do things I’m good at it is fun for me. I like having fun and fun is what life’s all about so… what was I talking about again? Oh yeah this is a blast.

Try it, as easy as it sounds, now that you are aware of it, you’ll figure out how often you choose words in a counter-productive way. Think about the way you describe your life, your job, and your relationships. Are they difficult? Are they work? Or are they interesting challenges to overcome? You get to decide.

Take a look in the mirror and realize that you are creating resistance to your own desires and life experience. If you change the words you choose, you can have an immediate impact on any outcome and how you feel about any subject, no matter how big. Change your words and you will change your life, and that is how big dreams come true!
