Taking a first look at Rob's blueprints, you'll notice the foundation of this installation—and any good festival flag—is the car. Using FedEx tubes as the protruding skeleton of the fixture, we'll prepare a spot in the shade with stretched layers of lycra. The flaring porch covers are essential when combating the noon-time sun as your team rests up for a night of festivities.

And the installation is born...

It is good to build this installation around a car with a roof rack. Plenty of places to fasten the skeleton will save time and provide a sturdy base.

Begin the process by building A) three two-tube sections and B) one three-tube section.


While this design calls for 9 boxes, we found it beneficial to bring at least two extras—just in case. (Continued on page 3, below.)
